Showing Up for One Another: A SixMiles Team Update
Celebrating Hattie Anderson’s graduation, two speaking engagements, and the people who keep showing up for one another.
Graduation, speaking engagements and the work ahead

This past week gave us good reason to celebrate: Hattie Anderson’s graduation, two speaking engagements and a team that showed up to support one another.
Celebrating Hattie.
Hattie graduated from Willis College and made the Honour Roll after completing her practicum with SixMiles. Her education includes an Addictions and Community Service Worker diploma from Willis College and a Human Services Foundation Ontario College Certificate from Fanshawe College.
Sharing her voice.
On October 28, Hattie facilitated “The Healing We Seek” at Skennenhátye Eminent Wellness in Ohsweken. Part of the Women’s Healing & Wellness Series, the session explored hardship, addiction and resilience through conversation and connection.
On October 30, she spoke at “Beyond the Pages” in Ottawa, hosted by Pass the Sage at Rideau Hub. Her message centred on self-love, healthy boundaries and Indigenous healing. Our team travelled with her to celebrate her achievements and support her work.

Trust grows through steady actions: listening, respecting boundaries and being present for one another. Those responsibilities matter in our circles and in the way we work as a team.
The work ahead.
We are also preparing for November community visits involving Bear Island, Kasabonika Lake First Nation and Ginoogaming First Nation. Conversations with Bear Island are underway; arrangements with Kasabonika and Ginoogaming are awaiting confirmation. We look forward to listening to each community and shaping our contribution around its priorities.
Our team is growing, and we look forward to introducing additional colleagues as their profiles are ready to share.

Nia:wen to everyone walking alongside us.
